The principles underlying this plan acknowledge:
- The different needs of emerging, mid-career and established poets
- The central role of organisations such as the State Library of WA, writingWA, WA Poets Inc and the writers’ centres
- That poets are able to apply for project funding through the Department of Culture and the Arts’ grants’ programs
- That there are other ways for poets to get help and advice to promote their work
- The Department will continue to communicate with poets during the life of the plan.
