The State Government's Percent for Art Scheme
The Western Australian State Government Percent for Art Scheme allocates up to one percent of the estimated total construction cost of each State capital works project, valued at $2million and over, to a commissioned Western Australian artwork. This includes refurbishments as well as new building works.
The Scheme is a partnership between the Department of Culture and the Arts and the Department of Treasury and Finance's Building Management and Works Division in recognition of the intrinsic value of arts being seen, heard and felt in our buildings and structures.

Artist Lorenna Grant recently documented the process of creating and installing The Essentials of Flight at the Dalyellup Secondary School. Read her thoughts on the project and view images of the installation. Project partners HASSELL recently won a WA Architecture Award for the finished project. Judges noted: 'Focal points of colour and 3-dimensional public art enhance the internal and external learning environments'.
