2009 Awards Information
These Awards were created after a thorough evaluation of the Western Australian Business and the Arts Partnership Awards program (WABAPA) and discussions with the Australia Business Arts Foundation (AbaF).
It was determined that the best way forward to serve both the arts and the business sectors was to merge the two awards schemes into one event; the State AbaF Awards event.
Nominations for the 2009 Western Australian Cultural Achievement Awards have now closed.
The Western Australian Cultural Achievement Awards consist of two award categories:
Excellence in Arts Enterprise
This is for a Western Australian arts/cultural individual or organisation which/who has undertaken a project requiring boldness or energy to create and/or been linked to an external sector not traditionally linked to arts and culture.
Excellence in Arts Management
This is for a person or organisation in the Western Australian arts/cultural sector who/which has, through exceptional management principles, sound leadership, advocacy, practice and example, instigated a relationship with an external organisation or their community; demonstrating vision, commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
