Privacy

The Department of Culture and the Arts logs visits to the Department’s websites and records the following information for statistical purposes:

• the user's server address
• the user's top level domain name (eg. .com, .gov, .au, .uk etc.)
• the date and time of the visit to the site
• the pages accessed and documents downloaded
• the object size
• the transaction type
• the number of milliseconds that the transfer required
• the previous site visited  
• the type of browser used
• browser capabilities
• connection speed
• operating system

No attempt will be made to identify users or their browsing activities except, in the unlikely event of an investigation, where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant to inspect the Department’s logs.

When a user moves to another site, they leave the Department’s websites and are no longer protected by these privacy conditions.
