City of South Perth Emerging Art Award Exhibition
Registrations for entry to the 2009 City of South Perth Emerging Artist Award have now opened! Giving Western Australian artists the opportunity to win up to $4,000. The exhibition will take place at Heritage House from 29 October to 22 November 2009, with only selected works hung for the exhibition. Since its inception in 2003 Art Award has grown significantly, with a total of 150 entries, 67 works showcased and close to 500 visitors to the exhibition at Heritage House in 2008. This year’s Art Award will again be targeted at “Emerging Artists”, effectively opening the competition to up-and-coming talent as well as those more established in the field. The Award exhibition is a great opportunity for young, emerging and established artists to have their work viewed by the wider community, as well as providing an opportunity for the sale of the artworks. The prizes for the individual award categories in 2009 are very generous.
