Young People and the Arts Fellowships

The Young People and the Arts Fellowships are open to individual, emerging artists and arts workers working in all artforms excluding film, television and radio. The fellowships allow young artists and arts workers to develop their practice through an intensive period of development; working on their own, with a company or individual; or with a range of companies or individuals.

Fellowships should incorporate:

  • A growth of your practice through research and/or developmental activities which focus on the pursuit of excellence and innovation, and/or
  • Activities that build on, enhance or complement your previous practice and will assist you to develop your practice and profile.

Scope, scale and impact upon your practice by the proposed activities must exceed that covered by the Development category.

Proposed activities can include, but are not limited to, research and development, internships, mentorships, professional development, residencies, engaging new communities and/or the creation of a new body of work. Young administrators can submit proposals to gain on-the-job experience working in a range of roles.

Up to three fellowships may be awarded per year.
