Grants for Artists with Disabilities
Disability and the Arts Initiative (DAII)
The Grants for Artists with Disabilities has now closed. This project was a one off grant opportunity aimed at providing grant funding for artists with disabilities. It also aims to provide the Department with information on how to improve access to our other grant programs. Artists with Disabilities are encouraged to contact the DAII Officer to find out about future funding opportunities relating to our Arts Development Grants, Young People and the Arts grants, Indigenous Arts Grants, Contemporary Music Grants and Designer Fashion grants.
The Department welcomes applications from artists with disabilities and from organisations working with and for people with disabilities.
Contact
Staff at the Department of Culture and the Arts can help you understand how to write an application for a grant. They can help you work out if you are eligible to apply and which category is best for your project.
The Disability and the Arts Inclusion Initiative Officer can assist you with preparing your application and is available for face-to-face meetings. Assistance can also be provided via telephone, fax, email or in an accessible format convenient to you.
The Department can arrange for an arts and disability advocate to attend your meeting with an Officer. The advocate will be a specially trained person who understands issues faced by artists with disabilities. We welcome family, friends and carers to attend your meetings if you would like.
You are encouraged to discuss your application with the DAII Officer by Phone +61 8 9224 7362 or toll-free 1800 199 090 (country WA callers only) or email daii@dca.wa.gov.au
The Grants for Artists with Disabilities was a pilot project funded in partnership with the Disability Services Commission and managed through the Department of Culture and the Arts. We are keen to hear your feedback as to the accessibility of the project, the handbook or our website. Please contact the DAII Officer with you feedback.
