Creative Development Fellowship

Showcasing the pre-eminent art collection in Western Australia

Creative Development Fellowship

Creative Development Fellowships are open to individual, established artists and arts workers working in all artforms excluding film, television and radio.

The purpose of the Creative Development Fellowships is to provide support for an intensive period of creative development for outstanding individual arts practitioners without the usual constraints and time pressures of delivering a product. Fellowships should incorporate
  • a growth of your practice through research and/or developmental activities which focus on the pursuit of excellence and innovation
  • activities that build on, enhance or complement your previous practice and will assist you to develop your practice and profile
Proposed activities can include, but are not limited to, research and development activity, internships, mentorships, professional development activity, residencies, engaging new communities and/or the creation of a new body of work.

Fellowships may vary in duration to a maximum period of 12 months. For the purposes of acquittal and future eligibility to the Arts Grants Program, all Fellowships are considered to span a 12-month period (effective from the commencement date of the fellowship activity).

Proposed Fellowships may be developed in conjunction with other planned initiatives, e.g. expansion of a proposed publication, forthcoming residency, community collaboration, performance or major exhibition.

Up to three Fellowships are awarded per year.
