Lorrae Coffin
Lorrae is a graduate from Abmusic and qualified in Music Theory, Practice, Sound and Audio. Over the last fifteen years she has written, recorded, produced and taught music. Lorrae has also performed all over Australia, touring with the Mary G Band throughout WA. She has performed in nine international tours with various bands and theatre productions. Lorrae has taught music in remote communities in the Kimberley and the Ngaanyatjarra Lands and has a long association with the Broome Aboriginal Musicians Association and Goolarri Media Enterprises. She currently works at GME as the Music Development Officer. At GME she is also involved in events management and coordinated the first Kimberley Indigenous Performing Arts Showcase in 2006. Lorrae has worked extensively in music theatre on productions such as Jimmy Chi’s ‘Corrugation Road’ and Marrugeku’s ‘Crying Baby’ and more recently ‘Burning Daylight’ as the Musical Director. She was previously the Vice Chair of the Indigenous Arts Panel and moved into the position of Chair when Gina Williams vacated the position in 2007. She is also a member of DCA’s Contemporary Music Panel.
