Wayne Teo
Wayne Teo was the Director of the Colonnade in Subiaco, a shopping centre with a focus on quality Western Australian, Australian and European fashion labels. The Colonnade also hosted Studio 388, a consignment area for emerging Western Australian designers since 1997 and set up Merge, a retail incubator for eight Bentley TAFE Fashion and Textiles graduates in 2001, who now five years on continue to run a successful fashion retail space. Over the years Wayne Teo and the Colonnade made substantial contributions to the Western Australian fashion industry. Some initiatives included part sponsorship for Western Australian designers to partake in the Source and for a Western Australian designer to showcase at Mercedes Australian Fashion Week (MAFW) in a group collection or independent show. Wayne Teo continually offered public relations, marketing and business services to young Western Australian Designers. He hosted successful 'Preview to the Press' evenings at the Colonnade for all Western Australian designers heading to MAFW in 2003, 2004 and 2005. Locally the Colonnade instigated and became a major sponsor of the Perth Fashion Festival Western Australian Designer of the Year Award since 2002.
