Showcasing the pre-eminent art collection in Western Australia

Louise Snook

Louise completed her Advanced Diploma in Fashion Design and graduated from Perth Central TAFE in 2003 having won two national awards in her final year of study.  These were overall winner of the Student Category at the National Gown of the Year awards in Melbourne and student designer of the year for the Design Industry Association.  Since graduating Louise has worked primarily as a textile designer, specialising in dyeing, felt making and knitting. In 2005 her felt work was selected for exhibition at the Contemporary Felt makers' group show in Geelong, Victoria. Louise works closely with some of Western Australia's finest fashion designers and continues an ongoing mentoring relationship with local and internationally renowned knitting designer, Jo Sharp.  Most recently Louise was selected as one of five WA designers invited to participate in an exciting wool project, Design for Comfort, a collaborative project between Curtin University and the Agricultural Department of WA.
