Susan Hamilton
Susan has a thirty-year involvement with fashion. Educated in the UK, France and Australia, she has BA degrees in Fashion, and Education, with a postgraduate degree in Design, and is completing a Masters degree at Curtin University. She worked in the fashion industry as a designer in up-market women's wear and contemporary young women's wear and has lectured in Fashion at tertiary level in Brisbane, Canberra and Perth. Currently she lectures fulltime at Central TAFE in studio practice and patternmaking, with history and theory of dress as her specialty area. She remains involved with industry by engaging in industry-linked projects at college, and participating in industry associations such as Western Australian Fashion Industry Association and the Textile Clothing and Footwear Association of WA. She occasionally writes articles for art and fashion related journals, participates in fashion issues interviews on radio and gives public lectures at the Art Gallery of Western Australia.
