David Hyams
David is a producer, composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist from Fremantle who plays acoustic and electric guitars, bass, mandolin, bouzouki, harmonica and dobro in various styles. His history spans blues/rock to the progressive folk styles of Devils on Horseback and The Press Gang. David has performed extensively around the Australian and international festival circuit. He has a significant work history with Indigenous artists including Peter Brandy and Kerrianne Cox, as well as working as a producer on numerous albums for local artists. His instrumental recordings have been heard on many soundtracks and his first album "Miles To Go" was released in 2000 and led to the formation of his 7 piece "Miles To Go band". In recent years David has been involved in numerous music projects in regional and Indigenous communities and a songwriting program in WA jails. He brings significant legal knowledge to the panel, is a long time member of the Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance and also sits on the board of the Western Australian Music Industry Association, of which he was President from 2006-2008.
