Sue Coughlan

Sue holds a BA in writing and has a diverse background in poetry, children’s literature, film and theatre. Writing as Frances Macaulay Forde, she has won awards for various areas including film, poetry and writing for children.  She was instrumental in setting up cultural associations including the Wanneroo Folk Club, New Endeavour Theatre group and in 1992 the first performance-based community youth theatre in Perth, Northern Youth Theatre. While an active member of the City of Joondalup Cultural Advisory Committee (until 1996) she developed the Peter Cowan Writers Centre - the first writers centre based on a university campus. She has served on many different committees over the last 30 years and is experienced in working with panels and community groups. In late 2005, she initiated and hosted Poet’s Corner and Philosopher’s Café events at the State Library, however her current focus is screenwriting.
