Panel and register of peers application process

Showcasing the pre-eminent art collection in Western Australia

Panel and register of peers application process

The Minister for Culture and the Arts makes appointments to DCA’s five Peer Assessment Panels for the duration of three years.

When it is time to appoint a new panel, advertisements are placed in the local media calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI).  EOI forms will also be available from this site.

In appointing panel members, the Minister seeks to achieve a membership that will provide a diverse coverage of Western Australian arts. It is a prerequisite for panel members to have specialist expertise in one or more artforms and possess an informed opinion of community needs, response and interest. In selecting panel members, consideration is also given to a broad, balanced and fair representation of artforms as well as arts management and community interests, including those of multicultural and regional Western Australia.

The Department also has a Register of Peers.  The Department may call on members of the register when there is a need for special expertise not otherwise accessible in the core group; when conflict of interest arises or to ensure expertise is available to assess specific applications.  Members of the Register of Peers will be approved by the Department and will have the same responsibilities as core panelists appointed by the Minister.  Applicants may apply for membership to the Register of Peers at any time.  A person may serve a maximum period of five years on the Register of Peers.
