The Young People and the Arts Fellowships are open to individual emerging artists and arts workers working in all eligible art forms. The Fellowships allow you to grow your practice through an intensive period of development. For projects that are smaller in scope, scale or impact please see the Development category.

During the Fellowship, you can work on your own, with a company or individual or with a range of companies or individuals. Young administrators can submit proposals to gain on-the-job experience working in a range of roles.

Fellowships should incorporate:

  • growth of your practice through research and/or development that focuses on the pursuit of excellence and innovation
  • activities that build upon or enhance your practice, and will assist you to develop your professional profile.

 Proposed activities can also include:

  • Research and development
  • Internships
  • Mentorships
  • Professional development
  • Residencies
  • Engaging new communities
  • The creation of a new body of work.

A maximum of three Fellowships are awarded per year.
