This category is open to young artists, arts workers and groups as well as those who plan to work with, or create work for, young people. Projects in this category can be in all art forms and can involve an exploration of new ideas, development of new skills, creation of new work or a fresh interpretation of existing material. Development applications may include distribution costs.

Applications can be for one or more of the following:

• Research and development of a new idea or a new work
• The creation and/or presentation of a new body of work
• Professional and skills development of individual artists and/or arts workers
• Production of a creative performance targeted at a young audience
• Commissions in fields such as writing, music composition and/or the visual arts
• Collaborations designed to produce new work involving two or more individuals, groups or organisations, or artists working within the community
• The revival and reinterpretation of plays, choreography and music, and/or
• Workshops or other arts activities that promote participation and engagement by young people.
