These general eligibility guidelines apply to all funding programs set out in the Arts Grants Handbook. Each funding category has additional eligibility criteria, which you can find on each individual category page.
Applications without the required support material and which do not meet the eligibility criteria will be returned without assessment.
Individuals and Groups
Individuals
Individuals wishing to undertake an arts activity are eligible to apply, provided they:
- are an Australian citizen or have Australian permanent resident status,
- are a WA resident (which is defined as being resident for at least 12 months prior to making the application),
- are not a DCA staff member.
Staff of DCA portfolio organisations may be eligible to apply. For more information refer to DCA's Code of Conduct and discuss your application with the relevant Project Officer.
Groups
Individuals and groups of individual artists who join together informally to undertake projects may also apply. Either one individual from the group or an incorporated organisation as a third party must be nominated to take legal and financial responsibility for any funding.
All group members and individual applicants must be WA residents.
Businesses and Organisations
Legally constituted organisations, including small businesses, local government authorities and not-for-profit organisations, are eligible to apply.
Benefits to WA artists and the local community must be identified when the applicant is from outside the State.
Organisations who receive DCA triennial, multi-year funding or recurrent funding through any DCA portfolio organisations (such as ScreenWest), are only eligible to apply for funding through the:
These organisations may be a partner in an application to other categories but they cannot be the applicant. They cannot apply for activities which form part of their core activities for which they already receive DCA funding.
