For the purpose of the Designer Fashion Grants Program, 'designer fashion' is the applied art dedicated to the production of exclusive fashion, with a strong emphasis on design creativity.
The focus of this program is to assist fashion designers and fashion design businesses to access commercial markets for their products, to develop skills and infrastructure, and to develop new markets for WA designer fashion.
All applications to the program should address issues of sustainability and the long-term goals of the applicant. This program supports activities which demonstrate that they are strategic, well planned and essential to the progress of the designer’s business/career to the next level.
NOTE: It is not the intention of the program to fund projects that are part of the applicant’s usual business.
‘Usual business’ is defined as activities which are undertaken on a regular, ongoing or scheduled basis, and support continued business operations.
