Creative Development Fellowships are open to individual, established, professional artists and arts workers working in all eligible art forms. The purpose of the Creative Development Fellowship is to provide support for an intensive period of creative development for outstanding individual arts practitioners without the usual constraints and time pressures of delivering a product.
Fellowships should incorporate:
- growth of your practice through research and/or developmental activities which focus on the pursuit of excellence and innovation
- activities that build on, enhance or complement your practice and will assist you to develop your practice and profile, and
- a process for evaluation of the activities undertaken during your fellowship.
Proposed activities can include research and development, internships, mentorships, professional development, residencies, engaging new communities and/or the creation of a new body of work.
Fellowships may be developed in conjunction with other planned initiatives, e.g. expansion of a proposed publication, forthcoming residency, community collaboration, performance or major exhibition.
Up to two Creative Development Fellowship grants are awarded per year.
Applications should be discussed with your Project Officer before being submitted.
