The State Government today launched an international recruitment drive to search for a project director who will lead content development for Western Australia’s new museum.
Culture and the Arts Minister John Day said the applications were being sought from outstanding candidates from Australia and overseas to lead the content and operation development for the new museum project.
“The State’s new museum will be a unique and invaluable asset for all West Australians, and a major attraction to draw visitors to WA,” Mr Day said.
“This is an important juncture at which to join the Western Australian Museum team as it sets about delivering a new museum for the State.
“This project provides a unique opportunity to deliver a new world-class museum for WA which will be an integral part of Perth’s continuing cultural transformation.”
The project director will join the museum’s executive team, reporting to the chief executive officer, and will lead the development of content for the new museum.
The WA Museum is working in partnership with the Department of Finance - Strategic Projects and the Department of Culture and the Arts to create an exceptional museum for future generations.
The project director position is advertised at http://www.jobs.wa.gov.au as well as on a number of international sites. Two creative director positions will also be advertised in the next few weeks to develop the major interpretive themes.
The new museum is scheduled to open in 2019-20.
